Kalan Guiley and Callie Tourigny Begin Their Terms as Senior Vice PresidentsKalan GuileyTwo members of ASME, Kalan Guiley and Callie Tourigny, began their three-year terms as ASME senior vice presidents earlier this month at the Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Guiley, who is the new senior vice president for Public Affairs and Outreach, and Tourigny, the new senior vice president for Student and Early Career Development, were nominated by their respective sectors and their selection was approved by the Board of Governors last September.Guiley, a resident of Seattle, Wash., is the systems integration manager for Boeing Commercial Airplanes 787 airplane program and is currently assigned to lead the implementation of a multi-discipline, cross-functional Innovation Cell to help solve factory problems during 787 final assembly at the co mpanys facility in Everett, Wash. As systems integration manager, Guiley, who joined Boeing in 2004, leads the gruppe that is responsible for managing the complex interfaces between flight controls, avionics, mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and various other 787 aircraft systems. The team also supervises systems-level design reviews, trade studies and other activities.A committed and active member of ASME since 2001, Guiley has served in various society roles, including ASME vice president of Government Relations from 2013 to 2016 and chair and secretary of the ASME Western Washington Section. He also served as president of the Puget Sound Engineering Council (PSEC), which is comprised of the local chapters of engineering and scientific societies in the Puget Sound area. He is a recipient of the ASME Dedicated Service Award and the Old Guard Early Career Award. He received an Honors Baccalaureate of Science in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University and a Master of Busi ness Administration in technology management from the University of Washington. Callie TourignyCallie Tourigny, of Simpsonville, S.C., is currently an adjunct instructor for Roper Mountain Science Center in the Greenville County School District and a personal development and career coach for LifeAMP LLC. She has more than 23 years of engineering industry experience, beginning her career at UTC Pratt Whitney in West Palm Beach, Fla., where she worked as a mechanical design engineer from 1989 to 1999. Tourigny then spent 13 years at GE Energy in Greenville, S.C., where she worked as a new product introduction program manager, technology growth leader and manager of GEs Edison Engineering Development Program. behauptung positions provided her with experience in a number of areas, including mechanical design, system design, program/project management, and management and training.In addition to her new role as senior vice president, Student and Early Career Development, T ourigny has served the Society in a number of capacities during her nearly 30 years as a member. Her past positions have included member-at-large of the Board on Education from 2012 to 2014 and chair of the Committee on Pre-College Engineering Education from 2012 to 2014, as well as member of the VOLT Executive Committee, the Group Engagement Transition Team and the Group Alignment Presidential Task Force. She received her bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland in College Park.
